The t+G virus is a unique virus made by combining strains of the "Tyrant" and "G" viruses. After agent HUNK retrieved a sample of Birkin 's project after the outbreak in Raccoon City , Umbrella proceeded to experiment with it. Without Birkin or a clear understanding of the G-virus however, research progressed at a crawl. Two years later, researchers at the Paris branch completed the secret experiment, combining the infamous t-virus with one of the few remaining samples of G-virus, thus naming it the "tG".

Properties and mutations
The nature of this virus causes the infected to have electrical properties, creating discharges of extremely high voltage against opponents. The virus also protects the host from danger with a electromagnetic field, which can repel gunshots. The virus also increases the host's strength and speed, as seen in Morpheus, which could run faster and take Bruce in air by his neck. The virus can also allow the host to retain full intelligence, like the T-Veronica, due to the fact it does not damage the brain's cells or diminish both the lower and higher brain functions, despite it was derived from the t-virus and G-virus, both created from the Progenitor virus. All the three viruses noted for creating energy upon the destruction of neurons. It is unknown if this is part of the mutation, or just a random mutation, despite this mutation does not appear in Tyrant T-091. If the virus was made from t-virus, there is the possibility that this mutation involved Morpheus' mindset, because of his obsession for beauty.
+
The nature of the virus caused the host to gain defensive electrical properties, amplifying the body's electromagnetic field so that it developed a high voltage, allowing it to repel most projectiles. The virus also increased the host's strength and speed. The virus also allowed the host to retain full intelligence, like the t-Veronica virus, due to the fact it does not damage the brain or diminish higher brain functions.

The virus' first known use was in the construction of the Tyrant T-091. This Tyrant proved to be a combination of typical results from both T and "G" strains, producing a Tyrant of the t-virus, but creating tentacles typical of the G-virus effects, rather than the claws a Tyrant typically possesses. However, this experiment ended in failure as the T-091 failed to produce an electrical current, which the TG-virus was primarily made to create. The only other example of its effects is the case of Morpheus D. Duvall, who directly injected the TG-virus into his body following a grenade-caused injury.

Disadvantage
The primary disadvantage of the virus is that if the host is damaged too much with a weapon capable of piercing the host's electromagnetic shield, like the Charged Particle Rifle , the G-virus trademark cascade effect takes effect, horribly mutating the host, which seems to loose the protective field as well. This is similar to William Birkin's G-virus traits in Resident Evil 2, with the added problem that the mutated form can literally explode, as was the case of Morpheus D. Duvall, when his second mutated form was severely damaged.

  +
An early agent of the virus known as "V.0.9.1." was administered to a test subject, which was named "Tyrant 091". This Tyrant was deemed a failure as ut failed to produce electrical properties and had very low intelligence. A newer agent known as "V.0.9.2." was stolen by Morpheus D. Duvall and later administered to himself, resulting in full adaptation with electrical properties and no impact on intelligence.
Special Weapon
The Charged Particle Rifle is the only known weapon able to pierce a host's electromagnetic field. While it was created by Umbrella to destroy any "T" creation, it demonstrated itself very efficient against TG creations.

The "Charged Particle Rifle" was the only known weapon able to damage an organism infected with the t+G-virus. It was developed at the Atlantic Waste Disposal Facility by followers of Morpheus, and was later used by Bruce McGivern to pierce Morpheus' electromagnetic field after he had injected himself with the virus. After sustaining enough damage, the genetic structure of the fused virus broke down, allowing the G-virus to begin mutating at an alarming rate, causing Morpheus to become a giant, unrecognizable blob of flesh and empty mass.
*The apparent sex change that Morpheus D. Duvall underwent could be a side effect of the virus, as well as an in-joke among the developers, as TG is a common acronym in the real world for "Trans-Gender" or someone who wishes to be the opposite gender/sex than that they were born as.

*The TG virus' colouration is blue, similar to the T-virus in the film universe.

The t+G-Virus was an experimental virus developed by the European branch of the Umbrella Corporation.

History

The t+G virus was developed by combining the "t-virus" and its anti-bodies with the "G-virus". After HUNK retrieved a sample of the G-virus from William Birkin in Raccoon City, Umbrella proceeded to experiment with it, and eventually decided to fuse it with the t-virus. The virus was largely an enigma, because the only apparent sample was stolen from the Paris Laboratory in September 2002. The culprit was Morpheus D. Duvall, a former Umbrella employee desperate to take revenge on Umbrella for using him as a scapegoat for the Mansion incident.

Properties and mutations

The nature of the virus caused the host to gain defensive electrical properties, amplifying the body's electromagnetic field so that it developed a high voltage, allowing it to repel most projectiles. The virus also increased the host's strength and speed. The virus also allowed the host to retain full intelligence, like the t-Veronica virus, due to the fact it does not damage the brain or diminish higher brain functions.

Countermeasures

The "Charged Particle Rifle" was the only known weapon able to damage an organism infected with the t+G-virus. It was developed at the Atlantic Waste Disposal Facility by followers of Morpheus, and was later used by Bruce McGivern to pierce Morpheus' electromagnetic field after he had injected himself with the virus. After sustaining enough damage, the genetic structure of the fused virus broke down, allowing the G-virus to begin mutating at an alarming rate, causing Morpheus to become a giant, unrecognizable blob of flesh and empty mass.
