Esentially the "Final Chapter" ignores the entire second movie. These two Ashfords are not related to Umbrella as they are described in Apocalypse, and never existed, thus the premise of the movie never happened (Paul W.S. Anderson is a terrible director). They say this in the first 10 minutes of the movie. Dr. Marcus (previously Ashford) created the T-Virus to stop some debilitating ageing disease his daughter had (previously Angela), and founded Umbrella with the doctor that lead the Alice Project (Dr. Alexander Isaacs). The original Angela Ashford was the image used for the Red Queen, but the movie says it wasn't her, but was Marcus's Daughter somehow... w/e. Isaac of course kills Dr. Marcus and keeps "Angela" alive so he can have control over all Umbrella assets (as her guardian). (The Final Chapter is terrible, worse than Retribution).
