While fiddling with Google translate, it appears a solid translation for Lanshiang is "Blue Lion Palace." If anyone can confirm or deny, it would make a nice piece of info! yeyjordan 16:10, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure. Chinese Hanzi (which Japanese Kanji is a duplicate of) can have a number of meanings to each radical, and so each character they create. Google translate gives you the option to look at different meanings by clicking on the translation. See what else you can get.-- Forerunner 16:30, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
As a Chinese speaker and Japanese learner, I'm pretty sure that the Hanzi and Kanji for Lanshiang literally means “Orchid auspicious”.Neunzehn (talk) 19:26, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

The Missle in the trailer

Do you think it was to destroy the city or disperse the infection? For the argument of the city being destroyed there is an explosion that looks like it is destroying the city. Now for the infection being delivered by the missle makes sense also because there is something that looks like the virus cloud coming from it. What makes sense to you? Master Plaga (talk) 23:44, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

I do not believe it looks like it is destroying the city. There are plenty of other explosions going on around the city, presumably from crashing vehicles or perhaps further attacks from either J'avo or the B.S.A.A. or something of that nature (like the exploding building in the new No Hope Left trailer while Leon and Helena are in the elevator). If anything the missile may cause an explosion from landing or as part of its dispersal, but I do not believe its intent was to destroy the city (at least in that sense). All the evidence points to it being a dispersal of the virus. The original scene depicts the fog/mist rolling out across the city and more and more trailers show bits such as civilians trying to outrun the fog, or the young woman being attacked through the glass of the mist-filled room by zombies. The timeline seems somewhat consistent in my opinion. Leon and Helena crash in Lanshiang on their plane and from what we've seen, the first thing that happens is they meet Jake and Shery and - subsequently - the Ustanak. In the trailer that first showed the missile, we see Leon and Helena are still with Jake and Sherry when he's informed about the missile. I presume it is at this point the two split up again as they try to outrun it, the missile causing the zombies that Leon and Helena will then end up fighting. --RMLogo2--...THERE ARE NO SECRETS ANYMORE...--RMLogo2-- 00:28, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

Are Lanshiang and Tatchi two different cities? Or is Tatchi just a district of Lanshiang?

One half of the city was already infested with J'avo when the BSAA got there.

Another half referred to as "Tatchi" was only hit by the missile (seen in the trailer) in chapter 5 of Leon's and Chris's campaign (which distributed C-virus gas, creating zombies)

Might be a district maybe as I noted that in the beginning of Chris' campaign, it says they were actually dropped off in Waiyip, China (not Lanshiang). Brought up the notion that Waiyip could be another district or city but no one really did anything with it. --RMLogo2--...THERE ARE NO SECRETS ANYMORE...--RMLogo2-- 14:10, September 30, 2012 (UTC)
China's system generally goes "Province > County > City".-- Forerunner 14:38, September 30, 2012 (UTC)
some locations mentioned by the characters throughout the game;
Waiyip > where Chris was dropped off, J'avo infested area
Tatchi > Area hit by the C-virus missile, Zombie infested area
Koocheng? > Rendezvous point for Sherry and Jake to meet with Simmons
Undersea Oil Field, Kwun Lung, Quad Tower (Neo-Umbrella building?)

Is the name Lanshiang even mentioned in the actual game? I didnt encounter it at all and I just did the platinum trophy so I have seen pretty much everything from the game. All thats mentioned is Waiyip and Tatchi as names for the chinese city. Since Chris, Piers, Jake, Sherry, leon, helena and Ada all seem to be in the same city because of their stories intersections it appears that there is no Lanshiang and Waiyip and Tatchi are the given names for the same city. Very consfusing. almost appears like a continuity error by Capcom.John Valentine (talk) 04:39, October 15, 2012 (UTC)
Lanshiang was named on the website. Waiyip and Tatchi are separate districts within the city. -- Forerunner 11:24, October 15, 2012 (UTC)
Wrong, Lanshiang is a province (which is like a state). Waiyip and Tatchi are two different cities in the province. The name Lanshiang is only mentioned once in the game, when Leon and Helena's plane flies over "Lanshiang airspace".
A file in the game also confirms that Waiyip is a city. Not a district.

:Sure, why not - I wasn't sure after I wrote that if Poisawan was supposed to be a city or a district, considering that the only use of the word "city" I had found was a single usage in a localized file.-- Forerunner 18:03, November 13, 2012 (UTC) -- Neunzehn (talk) 19:26, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
