Tamara Smart (born 14 June 2005) is a British child actress who played the part of the young Jade Wesker in the Constantin Film TV series, Resident Evil.
Career[]
Smart's first role in TV was the lead role of Enid Nightshade in CBBC's 2017-2020 incarnation of The Worst Witch. Between her performance in the series, she also took part in the 2018 BBC-Hulu series Hard Sun, where she played Hailey, daughter of the lead character Charlie Hicks. Following this she was cast in the 2019 revival of Are You Afraid of the Dark? where she played Louise Fulci in the three-part serial, "Carnival of Doom". Alongside Season 3, Smart's career moved towards streaming, and she appeared in Disney's Artemis Fowl and the Netflix film, A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting.
Following completion of The Worst Witch Season 4 in 2020, Smart auditioned for the Resident Evil series, and won the part of the younger Jade Wesker alongside fellow British actress Ella Balinska, who played her older counterpart. Smart's scenes were recorded between February and July 2021 in and around Cape Town, South Africa, with her remaining on set during Balinska's scenes to study her acting style to maintain character consistency.
Following Resident Evil, Smart has since provided voice acting for the animated film, Wendell & Wild.[1]
