The Essence of Defense is an unlockable item that appears in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It can be unlocked by destroying all twenty Mr. Everywhere bobble-heads in the main game.
Gameplay[]
After completing the game with all twenty bobble-heads destroyed, the Essence of Defense will be put in the Item Box on the second playthrough. The item reduces the damage received when blocking attacks but needs to be in the players's inventory for it to work. It can be paired up with the Secrets of Defense to maximize its effect. The item takes up one block of space of Ethan's inventory.
