The Storage Facility is a cutscene in Resident Evil 5. In the Japanese version it is known as "Arrival at the warehouse" (倉庫に到着 Sōko ni tōchaku?). All cutscenes for the game were storyboarded by yU+co. artist, Jerry Bingham.[1]

Plot[]

Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar finally arrive at the checkpoint of the storage facility where Alpha Team has parked their Gambits. Unbeknownst to them, elsewhere, an individual sits in a car with a laptop before him, closely monitoring their every move through a surveillance camera feed. He then instructs a cloaked companion beside him to drive the car and depart the location. Inside the facility, Chris locates the computer essential for transmitting the data entrusted to him by Dan DeChant to BSAA HQ, exactly as Kirk Mathison has instructed. While the data upload progresses, Sheva can't help but inquire about the terrifying encounter they have faced earlier. In response, Chris reveals that it's a B.O.W., a sinister creation left behind by Ricardo Irving to ensnare them. Given what this monstrous entity has done to Alpha Team, Chris feels they are fortunate to still be alive. Sheva laments that they should have reached the scene sooner, to which Chris solemnly acknowledges that they might have met the same grim fate. Resuming his duty, Chris contacts BSAA HQ via radio, and the voice on the other end praises their exceptional performance, assuring them that the data will be analyzed promptly. Chris can't help but voice his frustration with the deteriorating state of the town, noting the uncanny resemblance of its inhabitants to the Ganado described in the Kennedy Report. However, he also mentions the unsettling presence of something entirely new, an enigma they have never encountered before. Sheva, facing the reality of their predicament, makes a practical request regarding their transportation and seeks a mission update. In response, the voice from BSAA HQ emphasizes that capturing Irving remains their paramount objective. Intelligence suggests that he might have taken refuge in the mines located on the opposite side of the train station. Chris, grappling with the audacity of their mission, questions the rationale of sending only the two of them into such a perilous situation. In a firm tone, BSAA HQ assures them that Delta Team has been dispatched and is en route to provide assistance in tracking down and apprehending Irving. Undeterred by the odds stacked against them, Sheva attempts to voice her concerns, but the voice from BSAA HQ reiterates their directive. Failure to prevent Irving's escape is not an option, and they have to proceed to the mines beyond the station. The transmission ends abruptly, leaving Sheva incredulous at the seemingly reckless course they are ordered to pursue. Chris, in a moment of introspection, can't help but reflect on the unsettling reality of their situation. He asks Sheva, "Do you ever get the feeling you're expendable?"

Transcript[]

Irving: "Let's go."

Chris: "I got it."

Sheva: "What was that thing?"

Chris: "A B.O.W. that scum bag Irving left behind to set us up."
"Considering what it did to Alpha Team... I think we're lucky to still be breathing."

Sheva: "If only we could have gotten there sooner."

Chris: "If we had, we'd probably be dead too."
"Chris to HQ, do you copy?"

BSAA HQ: "This is HQ. Excellent work out there. We'll analyze the data immediately."

Chris: "This whole town's gone to hell."
"The people here they're acting like those Ganado detailed in the Kennedy Report and aside from that, there's something new, something we've never encounted before."

Sheva: "Our transportion has been taken out too. Requesting a mission update."

BSAA HQ: "The mission stands. Capturing Irving is your top priority. We believe he may have fled to the mines on the other side of the train station."

Chris: "Wait, we're the only two left, you want us to go in there alone?"

BSAA HQ: "Delta Team have been dispatched and are on their way."
"They will assist you in locating and apprehending Irving."

Sheva: "But wait, we can't..."

BSAA HQ: "I repeat, your mission stands. We can't afford to let him get away. Proceed to the mines beyond the station. Over and out."

Sheva: "This is insane!"
