The Tyrant was designed from the outset with an extreme focus on combat ability, and shares its name with the T-Virus itself, of which the full name is Tyrant Virus.
The Tyrant fully met the project goals of exceptional combat ability and superior intelligence for following orders. A commercial model was planned once the prototype had been successfully tested against veteran soldiers.
The T-103 model was more humanoid compared to the T-002 released during the Mansion Incident: not only had the long claws of its predecessor been removed, but its ability to follow orders was much improved.
戦闘能力重視型のB.O.W.(生物兵器)開発はこの誕生をもって完結をみたことになり、投与されたｔ－ウィルスの「ｔ」の正式名称のままにタイラント(暴君)と命名。
ずば抜けた身体能力はもとより、命令を遵守し遂行出きるだけの高い知能も計算上は実現された事となっている。歴戦の兵士を相手取る実験型の試験を通して最終チェックを終えたのち製品化される予定であった。
洋館事件では暴走。T-002型をより人型に近づけ（爪が無い）、命令に従う能力を向上させたのがT-103。
