(Capcom's primary storyline)
Echo Team was a detachment of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service, a paramilitary unit used by Umbrella to handle biohazardous outbreaks along with the Umbrella Trashsweepers.
They were tasked in cleaning out the Downtown district and to evacuate civilians to the Saint Michael Clock Tower, which was the planned extraction point.[1]
On the 26th, after being in Raccoon City for mere hours, the team was quickly reduced to just two members; Campbell and another unnamed mercenary.
They finally arrived at the Clock Tower on the 27th. Due to the high numbers of the infected, the two survivors used Civilians and wounded U.B.C.S. members as decoys.
The team - along with Umbrella survivors and civilians - were wiped out by the 28th, along with almost all remaining U.B.C.S. members; who were also to evacuate at the site.
