It is found on the gurney closest to the door when entering the experimentation room. This file is only present in the "A" scenario.

Dear Dr. Birkin,

It has come to my attention that we are currently experiencing a shortage of APL-14. To counteract this problem I am asking you and several other labs to donate five cases of APL-14 to our facility immediately.

For your information, we have discovered, that our base in the South Pole is primarily responsible for this shortage.

We are currently taking steps to prevent this from happening in the future. And don't worry, the Ashford's reputation is now irreparably tarnished.

Your quick response is greatly appreciated.

Dr. William Birkin,

Yesterday, a certain country with a substantial lack of viable products ordered a large amount of APL-14 as per usual. So now, in an effort to seek help from other facilities, we are requesting that you return the 5 cases of APL-14 delivered to your facility for use in research as soon as possible.

According to our inquiry, the current shortage is from the Antarctic Base, which has become commonplace due to their repeated negligence. We have issued a strict warning to Mr. Ashford and therefore will not request this on your behalf again in the future.

Taking everything into consideration, it appears that the Ashford family is on the path to self-destruction...

Further notes[]

  • The original script states that the Antarctic Base is well known for misusing research materials, in addition to not producing anything Umbrella is able to use.
  • In the official localization, Joel seems to anticipate the family's negative reputation. In the original script, they seem to already have a negative reputation and he instead suggests that the family itself is falling apart.
  • The localization gives this file a date, which is not in the original script. Therefore, the date is not considered canon.
