The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organisation established in the final months of the Second World War.

Structure

The UN is responsible for a number of intergovernmental agencies which operate globally. One such agency directly controls the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance to sterilise bio-weapons, while the World Health Organization coordinates public health matters and research into vaccines.
