==Trivia==

*The Marines are incorrectly depicted as wearing Army-issue ACUs (Army Combat Uniform), whereas the real U.S. Marine Corps wears its own patented digital MARPAT (MARine PATtern) camouflage uniform. But it may indicate that in the early phase of the movie, they were meant to pass for the National Guard, which are comprised almost entirely of Army Reserve units (the rest are Air National Guard, part of the U.S. Air Force) and are logically more likely to respond to the situation than the Marine Corps, as there are NGs in each and every state put on 24-7 standby for "state of emergency" such as the one happened in the movie. It could also indicate that there is a Marine Corps base nearby Hardvardville and the Marines who were involved were called from there out of convienience. Another possibility is that these are Marine units attached to the Army National Guard units, and at least half of the bulk is comprised of either the Marine Corps and Army National Guard/Reserve units, which explains the use of ACU, despite being less likely from other possibilities. It could also mean that in the RE universe,the Marine Corps adopted a urban version of the MARPAT which looked almost the same as ACUs, but this is also quite unlikely.

*The Marines depicted might not be regular Marines, they are most likely Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, which is a unit within the Corps to deal with just this kind of bioterror incident, which would also explain Marine Corps involvement in the movie.

*All of the Marines shown carry [[M4 Carbine]]s, some with [[M203 Grenade Launcher]] attachments, which indicates that (at least nearly) all the Marines who participated in the operation held NCO ranks, as Marine Corps regulation states that only Marine NCOs or higher and Special Operations Forces such as Force Recon are allowed to use the M4 carbine; the rest below the specified rank had to use M16A2/A4 service rifles. However, it could be the nature of the operation which took place in close-quarters where lengthy service rifles are cumbersome and they needed more firepower than a sub-machine gun which made them use the particular carbine. Then again, one of the theory of the Marines originally being National Guardsmen are based on the fact that the Army is mostly using the M4 carbine as the service rifle replacing the M16A2 rifle, whilst the Marines are mostly using their M16A2 and M16A4 service rifles along with some front-line Army units (e.g: 3rd Infantry Division).
