Uriaș was a powerful troll-esque Lycan who served as an enforcer for Mother Miranda. Originally the chief of an East European mountain community, he was infected with the Cadou parasite and transformed into a monster, along with most of the other villagers.[1] Uriaș Străjer is his older brother.[1]
His name is derived from the Romanian word "uriaș", which means "huge" or "giant".
Overview[]
Upon discovering the Fungal Root inside a cavern, Miranda extracted its mold and used it to experiment on local villagers. In doing so, she hoped to find a suitable vessel to revive her long-dead daughter, Eva. These experiments gave birth to the Cadou parasite. Those rejected by the Cadou were all transformed into Lycans, including Uriaș.
Biology[]
Unlike the other Lycans, Uriaș' size and strength increased dramatically upon infection. This allowed him to wield a large war-hammer, jump incredible distances, and toss columns with ease. Despite his size, he possessed superhuman agility, although he wasn't quite as fast as normal Lycans.
Gameplay[]
Uriaș is first encountered by Ethan during the initial Lycan assault at the beginning of the game. As a brute-type enemy, his attacks inflict considerably more damage than that of ordinary Lycans. He will mostly pursue the player while furiously swinging his war-hammer. If the player manages to kill Uriaș at this stage, he will drop 35,000 lei and a crystal skull.
Irrespective of whether or not the player kills Uriaș, he will still appear as a mini-boss in the Stronghold section. His attacks are mostly the same, although now he can pick up and toss nearby columns at Ethan. When defeated, he will drop a crystal war hammer.
