VT-J98 was a liquid chemical designed by Umbrella. Umbrella Europe's No.6 Laboratory ordered an "additional" quantity of this substance from Raccoon City to cultivate the NE-α Type.[1][2]
In the English-localization, VT-J98 is instead used to cultivate something called the "NE-T Virus", though this does not exist in the original script, which does not even describe VT-J98 as a virus.
