- The shootout in the street between the Raccoon City Police Department, the U.B.C.S and S.T.A.R.S against the undead mirrors that of the intro to Resident Evil 3: Nemesis at several different points, including the final shot of the undead reflected in the SWAT helmet.
The shot mirroring the opening cutscene of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
- Jill, Peyton and Terri seek refuge in a church occupied by a group of Lickers that hunt by sound and use their tongues as weapons, more similarly to the Lickers from the video games than the previous film.

- Ada herself (played by Li Bingbing) is voiced by Ada's original voice actress from Resident Evil 2 and 4, Sally Cahill. Ada also wears a red dress and choker that resembles her appearance from the latter, as well as a pair of self-detonating sunglasses.
- Wesker's appearance in this film once again resembles his appearance from the fifth game, minus the trenchcoat.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter[]
- See also: Resident Evil: The Final Chapter/notes
- The film reveals that Dr. James Marcus was the founder of Umbrella and the creator of the T-Virus; Marcus was eventually killed by Albert Wesker under orders from Isaacs. This is a very loose adaptation of the story of James Marcus, the main antagonist of Resident Evil 0, who was one of the three founders of the Umbrella Corporation and was also betrayed and killed by Wesker.
- When attempting to drink from the pool of the National Mall, Alice is attacked by a portly zombie that is called a Javo, a reference to the J'avo from Resident Evil 6.
- Alice is once again attacked by a Kipepeo, the flying creatures from Resident Evil 5 as featured in the ending to the previous film.
- When Alice escapes from Isaacs' tanker, she gets into a knife fight with Isaacs on the tanker's roof. This is loosely adapted from the knife fight between Leon S. Kennedy and Jack Krauser in Resident Evil 4.
- Alice escapes the tanker using a motorcycle, and Umbrella's forces attack her from the tanker. This is adapted from the motorcycle chase featuring Jake Muller and Sherry Birkin in Resident Evil 6.
- Claire's outfit in the film is taken from her counterpart's outfit in Resident Evil: Revelations 2.
- When Alice's group infiltrates The Hive, Wesker initiates a protocol to unleash a horde of Cerberus, prompting the team to run for the Hive. The Cerberus stop their pursuit once the survivors enter the Hive's premises. This is adapted from the opening sequence of Resident Evil, where the S.T.A.R.S. team encounters the Cerberus and must run to the mansion for shelter, where the dogs stop pursuing them.
- Upon entering The Hive, Alice and Razor are attacked by a bioweapon that resembles the Bloodshot enemy seen in the sixth game.
- Wesker's pistol in this film is a replica of his Samurai Edge from the video games, the weapon is also handled by Alice, Issacs, and Claire in the film's climax.
Johannes Roberts film series[]
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City[]
- This film is a loose adaptation of both the original Resident Evil 2 and the 2019 remake, with additional characters, creatures and plot elements borrowed from the 2002 Resident Evil remake.
- Several of the camera angles used throughout the film intentionally mirror those from the older fixed-camera titles.

A behind-the-scenes image of Leon's Jeep.
- Leon enters town in his jeep (per RE2 and it's remake), wearing a standard issue officer uniform with a name badge resembling those seen in RE2make and a coat with a fur collar that seems to harken to both his casual outfit from the start of RE2make and his fur-collared jacket from Resident Evil 4.
A behind-the-scenes still of Leon actor Avan Jogia, wearing the RPD coat and standard uniform, apparently in Emmy's Diner.
- William Birkin receives an urgent phone call at his home, and rushes his wife and daughter to his lab in an attempt to secure the G-Virus and quotes his game counterpart directly "This is my life's work, I'm not (giving it) to anybody."
- The zombie girl Birkin has openly vivisected in his lab is Emma Kendo. In the remake of Resident Evil 2, she is the half-zombified daughter of gun shop owner Robert Kendo.
- Birkin is shot and gravely injured, but manages to inject himself with the G-Virus, thus mutating into his first 'G' form, true to his video game counterpart.
- Claire arrives into town hitchhiking, and is picked up by the Trucker. The scene plays out similarly to the opening of RE2make, with the trucker eating a burger, becoming distracted and unintentionally hitting a zombie. However, instead of being bitten by the zombie, his dog becomes infected after licking up some of the gore from the road.
Claire and the trucker after hitting the zombie road-kill.
- Claire's jacket, attire and necklace are pulled from her appearance in RE2make. Likewise, the trucker resembles his appearance. However, he also wears a yellow plaid shirt similar to Robert Kendo from the same game.
- The truck itself has the same design/decals as in RE2make. It also has an Arklay County license plate.
Ben Bertolucci in his tape to Claire.
- Chris wears a white RPD shirt and a brown leather bomber jacket, resembling his alternate "Made In Heaven" costume from the original PlayStation version of Resident Evil and his epilogue in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

- Chris wears a white RPD shirt and a brown leather bomber jacket, resembling his alternate "Made In Heaven" costume from the original PlayStation version of Resident Evil and his epilogue in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
- Claire's motorcycle is a red Harley Davison 1998 FXS Night Train, the same bike she rides in the intro to RE2make, she also wears a white helmet similar to that game.
- A standee on the table in the restaurant reads "Herb's Cherry Pie" a reference to red herbs.
- Jill grabs Wesker's sandwich and says "Now it's Jill's sandwich", a reference to a scene from the original Resident Evil.
Note the sunglasses on the monitor and the gap in 'Wel come'.
- Chris, Richard, Brad, and Wesker are all wearing outfits that strongly resemble their S.T.A.R.S. uniforms in the games with minor alterations.
- Jill's outfit resembles her Arrange costume from Resident Evil: Director's Cut with her tube-top from Resident Evil 3: Nemesis underneath.
- Wesker's aviator sunglasses from the original Resident Evil can be seen on top of the computer monitor next to him.
- The 'Welcome Leon' decoration appears the same as it did in 2019's 'Resident Evil 2', including the removed extra 'L', a reference to the misspelling in the original 1998 game.
- Richard's desk includes a film-related easter egg in the form of a sticky note asking "Who's Alice?" a knock at the original character from the previous series of films.
- When Claire returns to Chris's house and finds it empty, she encounters a little boy hiding under the kitchen table and asks him if he needs help to which he responds "You need help." A direct quote from Sherry before Claire's first encounter with Birkin in RE2make.
- Before attacking Claire, the mother writes "Itchy Tasty" in blood on the back door window, a reference to The Keeper's diary in Resident Evil.
- The S.T.A.R.S are sent into the Arklay Mountains to search for the now-missing Bravo Team. They arrive via a custom S.T.A.R.S Bell UH-1 Iroquois "Huey" helicopter, the same as the video games.
- The team spots and investigates Bravo team's van, finding it desolate and abandoned. It's overturned, similarly to the military police vehicle that Bravo itself investigates in the opening of Resident Evil 0.
- Wesker spots a zombified Crow on the vehicle which Jill disposes. Crows are common enemies throughout the classic Resident Evil entries.
The main atrium of the Spencer Mansion.
- The painting hanging on the wall of the staircase is identical to the painting of the door in the same spot leading to the cemetery in REmake.
The first zombie.
- The large glass-stained window Richard in the staircase is killed in are notably similar to the one from the 2F Dining Hall and West Terrace in REmake.
- Gun Shop Kendo makes an appearance, the neon sign mirrors that from RE2make. The building also contains green herbs in the front window, an advertisement for Maximum Standard bullets in the window, and some vandalism that reads "This Too Shall Pass", referencing the graffiti seen behind the shop in the original Resident Evil 2.
- Various civilians attempting to leave the city are halted by the Umbrella Security Service setting up roadblocks and opening fire on innocent citizens. The logo on the vehicles used by the USS greatly resembles the logo for the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service in the Resident Evil 3 remake.
- The decals/design of the various RPD cars and vans seen in the RPD's parking and around the city are replicas of the design seen in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.
- The red 'Racc-City' license plates seen on several vehicles mirror those seen on Claire's bike in the Harley Davison cross-advertisement for RE2make.
- The exterior of the Raccoon Police Station borrow elements from the same location in both the original series (the round lamps between the pillars on the gates) and the modern remakes (such as the position and font of the R.P.D. logo, as well as the exterior of the building itself).
- The main hall of the police station is identical to its design and layout to the RE2/RE3 remakes. The reception desk also includes a typewriter.
- The trucker transforms into a zombie while driving and crashes in-front of the gates of the RPD. In the original Resident Evil 2, he crashes into Leon and Claire's RPD cruiser a few blocks away, while in RE2make he crashes into their Arklay County Sheriff's Department cruiser a mere street away.
The poster for Marvin Branagh can be seen on the wall to the right.
- When gearing up in the Armory, Claire grabs a shotgun. In both Resident Evil 2 and it's remake, Claire doesn't have access to the shotgun as a secondary weapon, instead she uses either the bow gun or the grenade launcher. However, Claire is seen with a shotgun in a flashback seen in the Resident Evil: Degeneration CG film.
Leon gets his famous 'R.P.D.' body armor.
- In the armory, cartons of Maximum Standard handgun ammo and Steel Boy shotgun shells can be seen. Jill and Chris's names are also listed on the cubby's behind them. This room's layout and equipment also vaguely resembles the Weapons Storage room from the original Resident Evil 2.
- Claire passes Leon his RPD plate carrier. In RE2make, Leon is either given his body armor and uniform by Marvin in his 1st scenario or obtains it from a locker in the Guardroom in his 2nd.
Chris, alongside the painting of two knights striking each other.
- The painting of the two knights striking each other is a replica of the painting seen in the 1st floor dining hall from REmake.
- Chris' handgun is a Beretta 92F Custom 'Samurai Edge'.
- When Jill and Wesker enter the library, the camera angle and lighting is meant to reflect the door loading screens from older Resident Evil titles.
- The library is a visual combination of several rooms, including the libraries from REmake and RE2make, and the bar. This includes a grand piano, and a secret passage into a tunnel system beneath the mansion.
- Like in Resident Evil and it's remake, the piano in the room is a puzzle that unlocks a secret door through the playing of 'Moonlight Sonata'.
- The PalmPilot that Wesker uses to solve the piano's riddle, resembles the 'mini disc reader' given to Jill by Trent to help in navigating the mansion's puzzles in S.D. Perry's Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy. In the novelization, Jill is accompanied throughout by Barry while Wesker also plays a larger, more-substantive supporting role. Likewise, both adaptations include a S.T.A.R.S office meeting prior to the events at the mansion and further expand upon characters backstories.
- Wesker also uses a portable computer device (compared to a Gameboy) in the original George A. Romero treatment for Resident Evil.
The map of Raccoon City in Brian Irons office.
- Brad is attacked by a zombie while using a flip-phone in his helicopter. While attempting to flee he crashes into the library of the mansion, killing him and stranding the S.T.A.R.S. This mirrors the RPD helicopter crash featured in Resident Evil 2. Brad also meets his demise at the hands of zombies in both the Resident Evil 3 remake and the original George A. Romero screenplay.
- Chief Irons encounters a zombie dog while investigating the basement parking lot of the RPD, this is the same location that both Irons and the dogs are first encountered in the separate campaigns of RE2make.
Leon and Claire in the jail.
- The power goes out in Raccoon City causing the city to go almost completely dark, a similar occurrence happens in the non-canonical Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
- Claire and Leon arrive at the rundown orphanage, the front gates of which are near-exact in appearance to RE2make.
The licker.
- Claire uses a set of keys to open a secret passageway in one of the rooms of the orphanage, these keys are identical in appearance to the precinct keys seen in RE2make.
