Video tape

Video tapes are a series of items in the main game of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Gameplay

The unifying mechanic to video tapes is that they can be played at any VHS player however, there are unique rules to each one.

The VHS tapes once played allows the player to assume the role of an another character who is recording the tape, depending on which VHS Tape was chosen to be played.

Video tape	Notes
"Derelict House Footage"	Cannot get a game over. Can quit in the middle of playing. Can reveal an Antique Coin in the Guest House.
"Mia"	Can get a game over by being caught by Marguerite Baker. Can quit in the middle of playing.
"Happy Birthday"	Cannot get a game over. Can quit in the middle of playing.
Old Videotape	Continues gameplay as mandatory section of the game. Game overs are treated as regular game overs. Cannot quit in the middle of playing.
