The deserted village (廃村 Haison?)[1] is an area of the village. It is a second section of houses in the rural area, having been abandoned some time before Leon's arrival as evident by the degraded structures. It was in one of these houses that Luis Sera was locked up in. During Leon's initial trip down the valley toward the deserted village, a team of Ganado pushed a boulder downhill in the hopes of crushing Leon. Leon manage to dodge the boulder, and progress his search for Ashley. It's also where the player first encounters village chief Bitores Méndez.

Description[]

Unlike the village centre, this area of housing is deserted. A tunnel crawling with bats leads to this village along with a warning sign at the front. There are two buildings, one with a broken glass and nail doors while the other is with broken roof.

Guide[]

Main game[]

This village is rigged with explosive trip wires and traps which had been prepared by the villagers for any intruders.

Two Spinels can be found on the ceiling of the tunnel leading to the village. Shooting them knocks them to the ground, allowing acquisition. The small shack to the east has a trip wire and bear trap set up inside, but the right box of two guarantees a Spinel, and the other a random item. Inside the larger shack, two barrels contain random items in the main room, with a Hand Grenade on a small table in the smaller room. A bird nest in the tree outside can be shot to acquire the Red Catseye, which can be inserted into the Beerstein to increase the value. This is the first of the three gems in the set. A box on the ground outside the house can be broken for a random item. Breaking the lock and entering the house, the first room has some Handgun Ammo on the dining table and some money in a cupboard behind it. On a small table before the hallway is a Typewriter to save on. In the hallway is a trip wire bomb. In the living room area, another trip wire bomb waits. In a cupboard on the far side of the room is a Green Herb, and a box of money sits on the table. Pushing aside a bookcase leads to the dresser Luis is trapped in. Interacting with the dresser ends the chapter.

Separate Ways[]

Ada will face many of villagers here, though she cannot enter the small house where Leon originally met Luis Sera in the main game. She can head straight to the small shack in the middle, where a cutscene will played showing that both Leon and Luis being carried away by dozen of Ganados.

The Beerstein is acquired in Separate Ways by hookshotting up to the bridge overlooking the bottom of the hill path. It is located inside a barrel once up there. Two Ganados wait up here as well. Other items are largely the same as in the main game.
