W-870 is a weapon in Resident Evil 4 (2023).
Location[]
The weapon can be found on the 2nd floor of a house in Village Square. The weapon is framed on a wooden portrait.
Gameplay[]
The W-870 is located in the exact same location and house as the original game. The shotgun takes up sixteen inventory spaces.
As the first shotgun the player can obtain, the W-870 is a very useful firearm thanks to its significant damage, able to easily knock a normal Ganado flying back at close range, and can briefly stun stronger ones such as the Chainsaw Man/Chainsaw Sisters and Brutes. In addition, the W-870 can also decapitate normal Ganado at point-blank range, usually rendering them unable to mutate, making it very useful against a transforming Ganado Desnucado.
Although the W-870 has a slow Rate of Fire, the player will quickly learn to upgrade the firearm through the Merchant.
When maxed out and with its exclusive upgrade, the W-870 is the hardest hitting shotgun in the game while still offering fair range and spread at the cost of a slightly smaller capacity, reload speed and firing speed.
The W-870 is one of the default weapon of Leon (Pinstripe) in The Mercenaries mode.
