Wasps are Infected cards introduce in the third set Outbreak. They are relatively weak Infected, only having 15 Health and dealing no base damage. They do have an effect however; once they're revealed they deal 20 Damage automatically. Similar to the effects of Set 1's Nemesis-T Type and the Guardian of Insanity, its an effective way to bypass the Level 1 effect of the promotional Chris Redfield card, which nullifies damage from weaker Infected. Its worth only 2 Decorations upon its defeat.

*In the Resident Evil Remake, they can survive getting hit from several weapons, and even a Rocket Launcher shot, eventually a player has to walk on them in order to kill them for good.

*They are more agressive and bigger in the Outbreak Series than they were in Resident Evil (DS, original and Remake).

*Their attack in the Outbreak series will be harder to dodge, as in Resident Evil Remake a player can tap the bottons in order to make the wasps go away.

*A good tactic to kill wasps is to play as Cindy, and when they're in mid-air ready to attack, to dodge and after the wasps passes through, to hit it with a Melee weapon (this has a chance to make the wasp to be stunned and drop in the floor, allowing the player to stomp, shoot or beating it to death) or shoot it.

Wasps (ワスプ wasupu?) of various species were infected with t-Virus strains. Wasps around Arklay County were infected with these viruses in a number of manners.

History[]

Mutant wasps were created in May 1998 after feeding on the pollen of Plant 42.[2][excerpt 1] Due to the accidental outbreak at the Arklay Laboratory, the staff were unable to control a mutant wasp nest, with at least one man succumbing to the poison. A wasp nest at a nearby abandoned hospital was also contaminated by suckling on the nectar of the Monster Plant, "Dorothy".

In Raccoon City, wasp nests were infected by unknown means. One nest was based within Raccoon University's ventilation tower, and was marked by Dr. Peter Jenkins as a source for V-Poison, a critical ingredient in creating Daylight.
