Dr. Wayne Li was an Umbrella USA researcher who was assigned to the Low Temperature laboratory in the NEST, a bioweapons research laboratory beneath Raccoon City. He was among the staff responsible for the Plant 43 project in the NEST's greenhouse.
When the t-Virus spread around the lab, Li was killed by a mutant while in the Nap Room. He consequently missed orders from his senior, Dr. Byron Cartwright, to tackle the Plant 43 escape.[1] Wayne Li's body is later found by Leon S. Kennedy or Claire Redfield who use his ID chip to gain Level 2 Access to various rooms at NEST. Upon restoring power to the Employee area where the nap room is located, he reanimates as a zombie and attacks Leon/Claire.
