"The Weekly Challenge is made up of three challenges for Resident Evil 2, brought to you from RE NET. Show the world what you're made of!"
— RE.NET description.
RE2 remake RE

The Weekly Challenges are one of the features available for the Resident Evil 2 remake on RE.NET.

Rules[]

Every week a set of three challenges become available to players who have linked their RE.NET account to the game, these challenges are categorized as "Gold Medals" Weekly Challenge Gold Medal, when all three challenges are cleared, the user gains one Platinum Medal Weekly Challenge Platinum Medal.

There are two types of challenges, "Story" and "Extra", Story Challenges can only be completed while playing the main game as Leon or Claire while Extra Challenges can only be completed by playing either The 4th Survivor or The Tofu Survivor. While Story Challenges never force the player to choose between Leon or Claire, oftentimes the Extra Challenges do not allow players to select a certain character. There are no challenges tied to the The Ghost Survivors DLC.

For the Story Challenges only, a "PLUS" version of a challenge can become available, which simply means the player must complete it while playing the game on the Hardcore difficulty, with the only exception being the "Forget the Weapons!" challenge.

Using ∞ Bonus Weapons is not allowed for the challenges, and as such any play data with these weapons will be ignored. For the Extra Challenges, meaning the ones tied to The 4th Survivor or The Tofu Survivor, play data with aim assist is not counted.[1]

Originally, using the Combat Knife (Bonus Weapon) would not nullify the play data, but as of February 11, 2019, the use of the infinite knife will make the play data become obsolete, certain challenges will specify if using the infinite knife is allowed, and in these cases the play data will be eligible if the player chooses to use it.[2]

Challenge List[]

Note: All challenges are eventually repeated, allowing players to have another chance if they missed it the first time.

These challenges can only be done in the "Story" mode as Leon / Claire.

Further notes[]

  • In order to unlock all RE.NET rewards, players would need to complete the Weekly Challenge a total of fifty times, this means beat the main story at least 100 times and either The 4th Survivor or The Tofu Survivor 50 times.
    • Even if players try to complete the two main story challenges at once, in some weeks it is impossible to be done due to there being challenges that go against each other, such as "Kill no more than 7 enemies" and "Kill at least 100 enemies".
    • If a player had completed all Weekly Challenges since its debut, they would be able to obtain all RE.NET rewards before Resident Evil 3 (2020) released, with the earliest date being on January 13, 2020.
  • On March 11, 2019, the site had an outage and play data from users were not synced, because of this, the three challenges available at the time were kept by one week.[3]
  • Since the start of the challenge (January 24, 2019) up until August 4, 2019, all challenges have been the same and repeated every week. However, as of August 5, a brand new challenge (being "Forget the Weapons!") became available.
    • The "PLUS" version of the Item Aversion challenge was also not part of the original challenges.
