Zeiram (ゼイラム zeiramu ) is a boss creature which was conceived of as part of the BIOHAZARD Dash pitch. Had development taken place, it would have been the final boss.
Development[]
With 1996's Resident Evil being released in a much smaller form than originally planned, Planning Room 2 supervisor Yoshiki Okamoto proposed Dash as a game that would further explore the Arklay Laboratory and its surrounding grounds some time after the Mansion Incident. Zeiram was designed with the theme of "chrysalis" (サナギ sanagi ), of which its hardened shell would reflect.
When it was decided again making Dash in favour of focusing money on what became BIOHAZARD 1.5, the basic idea for Zeiram was succeeded by "Golgotha".
