* The idea that a zombie bite causes the victim to transform was first introduced in ''[[Resident Evil 2]]'', rather than the original. Also, despite that Jill, Chris and other protagonists of the most games can be bitten by zombies, they never get infected/poisoned or turn into zombies themselves (exceptions are AI/Player controlled companions in Outbreak and Outbreak File #2, that can turn reanimate as zombies after getting killed by them), this was most likely done to avoid making gameplay too hard, since zombies are pretty common enemies in most of the games in the series.

* Outbreak File #2 introduced the [[Green Zombie]]; This kind of zombie is more aggressive and dangerous than other mutations (only matched by the Licker) since they would often walk at a faster pace after prey, and let out poisonous spores if hit or shot, which would cause a Poison status.
